Eyelash Extension Questions

What should I do to prepare for the Lash Extension service?

For the best experience, please arrive without wearing contact lenses or makeup. Prior to your appointment, ensure that your eyes are thoroughly cleansed.

How long does a Lash Extension appointment take?

Expect to unwind and lie back for your initial full set session, which can last anywhere from 3 to 4 hours, contingent on the quantity of your natural lashes. For fill appointments, the duration typically ranges from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on factors such as lash shedding, your natural lash cycle, and the specific type of lash fill you require.

How long do Lash Extensions last?

Professionally applied lash extensions by a certified lash artist typically last for a duration of 4 to 6 weeks.

However, shedding does occur so if you are looking to maintain your lashes for a prolonged period, biweekly fills are recommended.

I currently have lash extensions that were put on by someone else and it wasn’t properly done. Are you able to remove them prior to the new extensions?

Cleansing and removing lash extensions typically require about 20 minutes, using a gentle cream-based remover. As a courtesy, I provide a lash bath and conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your natural lashes post-removal. This extra step is essential, as improperly applied lash extensions can potentially cause damage to your natural lashes.

What makes a good lash extension tech and what should I look out for?

  • A solid foundation in lash fundamentals and an understanding of eye anatomy.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and staying updated on industry trends.
  • Vigilance regarding studios or technicians that omit initial consultations, which should include an assessment of your lash health, product information, and a clear service plan.
  • Transparency about the length and measurements of your natural lashes compared to the synthetic ones they will apply.
  • Confirmation that they use medical-grade adhesive for safety and quality.

Nail & Eyelash Class Questions

What are the advantages of 1-on-1 vs online only classes?

In-person, one-on-one nail and eyelash extension classes offer an unparalleled learning experience that surpasses the benefits of online-only individual sessions. The key advantage lies in the hands-on, real-time guidance provided by an experienced professional. Students can observe and practice techniques in a controlled environment, receiving immediate feedback and correction.

The tactile nature of nail and eyelash extension work requires in-person interactions for precise skill development and mastery, something online platforms can't fully replicate. Moreover, I can adapt the teaching to the individual's specific needs, ensuring that the student gains a deep understanding and confidence in their craft.

The personal connection and physical presence I can create fosters a conducive atmosphere for questions, troubleshooting, and personalized instruction that is invaluable in these beauty-related fields.

Overall, in-person, one-on-one classes for nail and eyelash extensions provide an immersive and hands-on educational experience that greatly enhances the learning process compared to online-only alternatives.

I see many one day lash courses advertised, why should I take your multi-day course?

When considering the choice between a one-day lash extension course and a 50-hour multi-day course, it's evident that the latter option is significantly more advantageous for students.

In a 50-hour lash extension course, students benefit from an extensive and thorough learning experience that allows for a comprehensive grasp of the subject matter, along with ample practice and skill refinement.

Conversely, in some 50-hour courses taught at large schools, where one instructor is responsible for 20 students, the amount of personalized training each student receives can be as limited as 2.5 hours as the instructors time must be split among all the students.

This highlights the importance of not just the course duration but also the student-to-instructor ratio, as smaller class sizes or
longer courses can provide a more effective and tailored education, ultimately leading to better skill development and understanding of the material.

In this context, it's worth noting that my 1-on-1 lash extension course provides distinct advantages over these alternatives. With my personalized approach, students receive undivided attention and tailored guidance, ensuring
the most effective and in-depth education, ultimately surpassing the limitations of both quick one-day courses and overcrowded 50-hour classes with limited one-on-one interaction.

Why is the Lash Extension program spread over 10 days?

The 10-day schedule for my program is designed to ensure comprehensive and effective learning without overwhelming the student. It allows for a more in-depth exploration of the material and offers time for practice and skill development.

I have a full-time job and family commitments. Can I still participate?

Absolutely! I understand that students have diverse responsibilities, and I make every effort to accommodate your schedule. I aim to provide flexibility, ensuring that classes are accessible to everyone.

I can offer daytime, nighttime and even weekend classes.

How can I get more information about class schedules and availability?

For more details on class schedules and availability, please contact me directly. I will be happy to assist you in finding the best arrangement that works for your schedule.

My friend and I would like to take the lash extension program together, is that possible?

Absolutely! While my Lash Technician program primarily consists of 1-on-1 sessions for personalized learning, I also offer group sessions for up to six people. This is a great option if you and your friends or colleagues want to learn and practice together. Please contact me to discuss group scheduling, availability, and any special arrangements for your group. I'm here to cater to your learning preferences and needs.
